Time to unpack and warm up and dry out. Repair my black dress. And keep on with the boys clothes for November Crown.

They are now re-collared and outside inspecting their property. Little rascals.
Took a large punnet of black berries (courtesy of soon to be grandparents) to work to be eaten. All gone, but it took a valiant team and some extras the whole day.
Now off to A&S, picking up DC on the way.
Least the cats are flea free (if they had any at all) are eligible to get into the cattery, and have made our stuff flea free too.

This does mean leaving DC on his own with his parents. But one of us needs to remain calm.
I'm _so_ glad we brought new bras. I really wasn't fitting the old ones. Now I feel much better. Sigh. Boob room.
breakfast is ready.
Next time we will not say byo nibbles. We had plenty with just what DC wanted to provide. I do have to learn to make proper chocolate fondu and not just melted chocolate. Especically if I want a fondu party for my 35th birthday in June.
Patch was wonderful, she came in and met everyone and got cuddles, made a real nuisance of herself and got lots of attention. We'll make a party cat out of her yet.
Neo slinked in sometime during the evening while the kitchen was fairly quite and ate more, then slinked back out again. Only returning home once everyone was gone. He got good boy cuddles for been so brave. I'm not expecting him to become a party cat, having him slink in was plenty.
The resulting morning tidy up went better than expected. New set up for the dining room that works better I think then before. Also my study got a re-vamp and a rug, which is nice because the floor is lino on concrete, brr. The living room while looking the same got a tweak too. And for the bonus point we have un packed the kitchen and found homes for everything.
Time to turn my head to wards Canterbury Faire.

Yup, It's true. I made it to the end of the first trimester. Had the 12 week scan and am all good to go. We saw fingers and feet. It's 7 cm long now, from top of head to bum. It was also moving around it's arms and legs. A good heart beat too. Only the one, which is good, one at a time is good.
Looks like a human and not a potential human or whale or fish or donkey.
DC and I are happy and nervous. It's a big responsibility teaching someone the way of things.
His parents are very excited that they are finally going to be grandparents.
Mine already are grandparents, so they don't seam as excited.
I'll be around six months at CF. My plans for that have not changed. But I'll be on my own timetable a bit, no rushing, no long distance walks, probably no late nights, and lots of naps.
I'm due around the end of May, which put a kink in our plans to help out with bits of May Crown in Darton. I won't be decorating the hall. Hauling my 8 some month belly up and down a ladder to put up hall decorations, while possibly funny to watch, will not be a goer. I'll not be head server and hall steward for my lovely husband, and he's had to pull out of leading the food. Just in case little Ramsden decides to come in a hurry.
I do feel bad about that. We couldn't help much last time because we got married and went on honeymoon just before the event. Now I'll be near my due date, and probably only up to waddling around the event.
We are thinking about how to handle the introduction of little R to the cats. While keeping them at ease and keeping little R above them on the pecking order, without throwing them outside. I'm not sure I could deal with that.
Oh I do like this new house, nice and warm!
We are going to Raumati and Otaki tomorrow to look at catteries. DC also hopes to find another 2 seater couch, so when people come over they have somewhere to sit other than the floor. We appear to be making a day of it.
Still not unpacked. Want to tidy and stow the things I have in the house before brining up more. I'll purchase some more plastic boxes and keep some things down in the garage, so as not to clutter my study. There are clothes to pack away now until after, as I already don't fit my nearly new jeans.
At least bookbinding is something I'll be able to keep doing, even if event attendance may have to drop off for a bit, and event running will too.

DC is bringing up the library so he can unpack it.
I've just sorted my boxes in the garage and brought up the important ones. There will need to be some unpacking and re-packing as I sort out what is needed now and what can wait till after CF. Then there will be the making of things and court garb for May Crown Tourney.
After that we will see.
Things to do soon:
- repair the broken drawer
- finish the wedding album
- unpack and set up the bookinding workbench
- plan what needs to be made (exactly) for CF

We have paid for our shares of the Darton truck.
We have booked and paid for Canterbury Faire site fees.
Yay us!
Still to do
- cattery for the week
- ferry booking
- garb
I think that's about it.
Oh yea and getting there and cooking and such, but that's all part of the fun.

The car had slowed down, it could have stopped, beeped the horn and the duck would have buggered off. If they could not have avoided the running over they should have stopped to render assistance to dispatch the duck, though I doubt many city folk the guts to actually do it.
We were more upset about it because it didn't have to happen, that it was a waste, than having to actually dispatch the duck.
Which from it's size, had it not been run over, would have been very tasty.
We have both been off all day.

Good event. Really good food for a pot-luck. I did have a big sleep in the afternoon, as is my current activity, and then another one later in the evening.
Not really packing today either. Bit slack really. Perhaps is the sun. Done the washing though.
Oh well, little bits.

It's really only bits and pieces now anyway, and things we want to keep out to use. A set of plates, some glasses etc. The clothes we need for work and living. We will be ready for Sunday 19th.
I've been ordered by the doctor not to do any lifting. So we will need people with cars, and extra people to lift. So if anyone wants to help, come on over. We will get you all to the new place for dinner.
The cats are getting a little more clingy. Though that may have something to do with DC telling Neo off for harrassing Patch during the night and punishing him. Patch has taken a liking to sleeping on top of the duvet now. Both still _have_ to sleep with me, but at least they do it without the biff now.
So just over a week to go before we start moving into the new place, a place with less stairs, more room and a nice quite street. I'm excited.
Night night.

The cats know there is something up. I'm not sure if the know the full horror of it yet. But they spend their day coming and going and asking for attention and pats, which we provide.
We are asking for people to come help move our boxes on Sunday 19 October. The plan is to start packing cars at 10am in Korokoro. Each one till they are all full, then convoy over to the new flat and unload. Go back and do it again, and again, and by about then it should be time for dinner and beer. We plan to have chalk markings on the garage floor to put the boxes. But all the kitchen boxes go into the kitchen. That way we can keep the house clear for the movers who are coming on Thursday to move the furnature. Then move things in over time without making a huge mess inside.
The cats are moved the same day as the furnature and so our first night in the new place will be 23 Oct. Then we will spend Friday moving the things we missed, and Saturday and Sunday cleaning the old flat and Monday (cause it's a holiday) settling in and unpacking the things we will need urgently.
And then we will have a house warming sometime after. Once the cats are more settled.
Well that's the plan anyway. By the end of November we should be comfy and sorted.
Right, back to the packing.

We don't expect anyone to help after last time.
Of course if things change it'll be different. But we are pretty sure this is now the plan.

Cleaning, I really hate cleaning. And doing things twice because your work computer ate it.
DC is at war-gaming. So I'm cleaning the bathroom. Spring clean level of cleaning. Washing walls, and doors and windows. Then there is the bath, shower curtain, sink and floor. I've only done the top of the walls and the door and windows and window cills.
Did I mention I hate cleaning.
It's cold, but then so it everyone.
No students showed up to sew this morning. Oh well.
Patch is afraid of thuner stroms. Found her hiding under the chair in the 'gaming' room on thursday night as the house shook around us. Put her on my lap in the tv room and she buried her little face in my elbow and shook. Eventually calmed down. Neo only appears a little bit bothered. He's happy as long as he's warm and fed. Peferably being fed in the warm.
Nice to have some time on my own to do ramdom things.

I had to advocate for him, as the doctors were quite happy to send him him with an inner ear infection. After a clear MRI and a visit from the Neurologist, he appears to have BPPV or Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo easily sorted with excersies and time to dissolve the debris in his inner ear... thingy.
So ahead of the storm I headed home on the following Friday.
Almost a week on, DC is recovering from pneumoia, I've got a head cold. We've moved the tv and couch into DC's study, and warmed it up so we can live in a warm area.
One more day of work this week, then the weekend, where I actually can have a weekend. Perhaps I'll open the door to my study and empower myself by throwing something away.
